How many times have you anticipated a trip to some place and you get there and one of the TOP things on your list was CLOSED??? BOO!!!

Well, Disney World Resorts have periods of time in which they close attractions in order to “rehab” them. Sometimes, this is for a couple of days and often times longer. The “rehab” process includes cleaning and checking all aspects of the ride, along with any upgrades or re-imaging.  This is done to continue to make sure all Disney Resort guests have a quality experience that meets or exceeds Disney standards.

Parks:

• Animal Kingdom:
  • Beastly Bazaar (gift shop) closed Aug 12, 2012 — to be re-imaged and re-opened at a later date
  • Affection Station (at Conservation station — where you can pet the goats) – Closed May 03 – July 21, 2012
• Hollywood Studios:
  • Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set (the over-sized play area) – Closed September 10 – September 14, 21012
• Epcot:
  • Test Track- closed April 16-November 30, 2012 – attraction corporate sponsorship changing from GM to Chevrolet
  • Bistro de Paris – Closed July 1 – November 30, 2012
  • Art of Disney- Closed July 23 – July 30, 2012
• Magic Kingdom:
  • Fantasyland Construction — ongoing and should be completed by the end of 2012 — continue to check back to see the new openings
  • Liberty Square Riverboat – Closed August 4 – August 10, 2012
  • Country Bear Jamboree – Closed August 22 – October 16, 2012

Resorts:

• All Star Sports:
  • Surf Pool – Closed August 6 – September 7, 2012
• Beach Club:
  • Cape May Cafe – Closed July 9 – August 3, 2012
• Grand Floridian:
  • Spa Closed — will re-open in early 2013
  • Citricos – Closed July 23 – August 4, 2012
  • Beach Pool Bar – Closed but will re-open August 25, 2012
  • Gasparilla Grill – Closed August 24 – December 16, 2102
